Venezia Mestre is one of the two main railway stations in Venice mainland, Italy. The quite small but busy station is an important junction point. It operates high-speed trains to the major Italian cities (to Rome, Naples, Milan, Verona, Salerno, etc.), Intercity and Night train towards Germany, France, Switzerland, and Austria, as well as express, regional, and local services. Mestre railway station throws in sharp relief the saying “little pigeons can carry great messages”. Being a central part of northeast Italy’s railway system, Mestre station serves about 500 trains and 85,000 passengers daily! Indeed, a little goes a long way.
