Boasting an authentic exterior, the Varshavskiy Station St. Petersburg also boasts a unique history. Dating back to the mid 19th century, the station was operating as a rail hub until 2001, when it became home to the Russian Railway Museum. With all sorts of train-related exhibits occupying the territory and the tracks nearby, the former station building itself became a trade center, and the museum pieces were eventually transferred to a nearby facility, which is open as the Russian Railway Museum still.
