Pronounced in Russian as "Moskovskiy vokzal", it is one of the major railway hubs in Russia's Venice of the north, St. Petersburg. It is currently the oldest station in the city, erected in 1851. Engagingly, the building of the station is exactly the same as its twin, Leningradsky Station in Moscow, which welcomes the trains making their way from St. Petersburg. How to get to the Moskovsky station?

The station is conveniently located in central St. Petersburg and thus can be easily reached by public transport. One of the simplest ways to arrive to Moskovsky vokzal is by taking the metro as the station stands on the intersection of two lines: Ploshchad Vosstaniya metro station (red line) and the ​Mayakovskaya metro station (green line), it'll take a few minutes on foot to reach the train station after exiting the metro. Moreover, you may also take the bus (routes 9, 24, and 191).

What to find on the Moskovsky train station?

This St. Petersburg station may be historic, yet it is well-equipped. Inside you may find a ticket office working round the clock, WCs, waiting areas, cafes and small shops, as well as an information desk and screens displaying current Moskovsky station departures.

How many platforms does the Moskovsky station have?

There are seven platforms on this station and 14 rail tracks. Keep in mind that it is highly advised to arrive at the station at least 30 minutes before the train's scheduled departure to have enough time to pass the security checks and find your train on the platform.

Are there any Moskovsky Station luggage storage services?

If you need to leave your belongings at the station in a safe locker, it is possible to do so onsite for a small fee in the station's luggage storage facilities. Called "kamera khraneniya" in Russian, you can find it to the right side of the main hall where you'll need to go down the staircase, the area is marked with a suitcase sign for convenience.
