The second major train station in the capital of Spain, Madrid, Chamartin was opened in 1975. The Chamartin train station is located in the northern part of town, about 7 km (4.5 miles) from the Madrid city center. This rail station mainly serves trains from northern Spain, including the high-speed line AVE, as well as some international services. Though Chamartin is not as big as the central Madrid Atocha Station, it still boasts great amenities and is a nice departure/arrival hub.

How can I get from Chamartin Station to the international Madrid airport Barajas?

You can reach Barajas Airport catching one of the "Cercanias" trains (C1 and C10), always departing from track 11 of the Chamartin station and arriving at Terminal 4 of the airport. The trains usually depart with an interval of 15-20 minutes daily.

Can I reach the Chamartin station by metro?

Yes, it is possible to get to the railway station by subway as the metro station Chamartin is located right below and is connected with the rail station by a sheltered passage. You can get to the train station, using the Line 10 metro.
