Rail Ninja is a reservation service for booking train tickets online. It is not a rail carrier, does not own or operate any trains, and does not represent an official website of any railway company. It is a commercial business that makes it easier for you to book train tickets online.
Constructed in 1865, the Santa Apolonia terminal is the oldest train station in Lisbon, Portugal. Although the station is located to the east of the city, you can easily get there using Lisbon's public transport, including the metro. Moreover, apart from being the major departure hub for all cross-border rail routes, this cozy station is close to the Passenger Terminal of Santa Apolonia, the starting point for most cruises across the Atlantic Ocean.
The Santa Apolonia train station has only 8 platforms, so it's really easy to navigate. To get an idea of how the interiors and exteriors of the building look like, we recommend watching the video below.
Thought the Santa Apolonia is situated to the east of the city center, it is conveniently connected via the public transport network. If you are wondering how to reach the station, you can easily get there by metro (the blue line) or bus (routes 9, 46, and 59).
Inside the station there are plenty of shops, ticket offices, ATMs, bathrooms, lockers, and a help center, feel free to use one of the Santa Apolonia station maps located inside to help you get around. What is more, as the station is close to the historic district of Alfama, within walking distance you can find lots of cafes, bars, and food shops.
Speaking about the Santa Apolonia luggage storage, you can leave your bags in the safe coin-operated lockers located right at the station.
