Set 17 kilometers (11 mi) from the city center, Guangzhou South station is among the largest passenger transportation joints in China and a part of a regional high-speed network. Trains departing from here can take you to such popular tourist spots in the country as Wuhan, Beijing, Shanghai, Xian, and Shenzhen. Inside the complex, you can find all needed amenities like ticket offices, bathrooms, help desks, spacious waiting areas, a parking lot, luggage storage, as well as food and beverage outlets. Make sure to arrive at the station at least 30-40 minutes before the scheduled departure time since all passengers have to pass through the security check.
