Opened in 1846, the Edinburgh Waverley railway station is one of the most significant railway hubs in the United Kingdom and the second busiest train station in Scotland (after the Glasgow Central railway station). It got its name after a series of novels, written by Sir Walter Scott, a brilliant Scottish author.
