Capital's Main Railway Hub: Beijing Central Station
Opened in 1959, the Beijing railway station held the title of the most important train shed in the country before larger Beijing West and Beijing South station were constructed. At the moment, this railway hub offers regular services to northeast, south, and south China as well as sends high-speed trains to the northeast part of the country. What is more, Beijing Central station is the main terminus for cross-border trains connecting China's capital with such cities as Ulan Bator, Hanoi, Pyongyang, and even Moscow. Apart from being a significant rail junction, Beijing's main train station is also an architectural masterpiece that combines the elements of traditional Chinese and Stalinist Empire styles.

Thanks to its great location right in the old part of the city, the station is easily reachable by public transport. Indeed, the most convenient way to get to the Beijing central station is via subway (Line 2).
In 2008, the complex was renewed to meet the modern standards and welcome the foreign guests of the Beijing Olympic Games.
