Glasgow Queen Street

Glasgow Queen Street is the smaller of Glasgow’s two mainline railway stations. Being the third busiest station in Scotland, 17 million people use Glasgow Queen Street Station annually. The terminus serves the Greater Glasgow areas (Airdrie, Coatbridge, Hamilton, etc.), suburbs, and northern towns, as well as Edinburgh and North of Scotland destinations. The station proudly bears the title of one of the oldest train stations of Scotland as it was opened in 1842. The structure of Glasgow Queen Street is very similar to its counterpart, Glasgow Central Station: there are high and low levels with 9 platforms. The platforms 1-7 occupy the high-level and the platforms 8-9 comprise the low-level station. Nowadays, the terminus is being under a great redevelopment but is still functioning, so any traveler could use its services.
