Chamartin

The second major train station in the capital of Spain, Madrid, Chamartin was opened in 1975. The Chamartin train station is located in the northern part of town, about 7 km (4.5 miles) from the Madrid city center. This rail station mainly serves trains from northern Spain, including the high-speed line AVE, as well as some international services. Though Chamartin is not as big as the central Madrid Atocha Station, it still boasts great amenities and is a nice departure/arrival hub.
