Located at the junction of three railway lines, Interlaken Ost is an essential railway junction. The BLS AG's Thunersee line, the Zentralbahn's Brünig line, and the Bernese Oberland Railway (BOB) converge at Interlaken Ost. There are also trains operated by the Swiss Federal Railways and the German Railways that run along the Thunersee line, allowing passengers there to travel directly to the station. It is also connected to PostBus Switzerland's local buses and STI's regional bus line to Thun.
