Address:
Station Road, H91 T9CE, Galway, Ireland

Ceannt railway station is located in Galway city center, County Galway. It serves Dublin, Limerick, and Athenry destinations. The station is quite long-living as it was opened on 1 August 1851 and became the western terminus of the Midland Great Western Railway. With the time, the Ceannt station expanded, turning Galway to an important railhead. Interesting fact, the station got its current name only in 1966 to commemorate Éamonn Ceannt, one of the leaders of the Easter Rising of 1916. The station is planned to undergo a significant redevelopment in the nearest future, featuring expanded area, modernized public transportation function, and a unique place for people to live, play, and work.
