Intercidades Trains in Portugal

Portugal is a stunningly beautiful country, and getting around it on a train is not just fast and comfortable, but also offers some of the most amazing views in Europe. The second most popular option (after Alfa Pendular) is fast Intercidades trains. They are a bit older than the famous Portuguese high-speed trains and boast a bit more humble amenities, but still, very fast, provide everything the travelers need for a comfortable journey, and are a more budget-friendly option. There are two travel classes onboard, Economy and First Class. The second-class car features comfortable seats arranged 2x2 with a folding table, generous legroom, and big panoramic windows. Traveling first-class means that you get a wider adjustable seat, plenty of luggage space, power sockets, and a bit quieter atmosphere, compared to the Economy Class. Wi-Fi is available throughout the train, and passengers are welcome to take advantage of a bistro car and a trolley service during the journey.

    This type of cars offers comfortable seating with folding tables, enough legroom, and compartments for your belongings as well. Seating for passengers with special needs is also available. Free WiFi is accessible for your convenience onboard the train. Passengers can purchase food at a buffet car with cafeteria service and light meals (except on the Alentejo line). The transportation of pets with you is also possible on the train.

    This type of train coaches offers seats with plenty of legroom, folding tables and compartments for your belongings as well. Seating for passengers with special needs is also available. Onboard the train you will find free WiFi at your disposal and electric power sockets commonly available on the coach.
